How to move around in Trento city

The historical centre of Trento is walkable and very compact, so you can reach all the main monuments and points of interest in the city on foot in minutes. From Piazza Dante railway station it only takes a few minutes to get to the central Piazza del Duomo (550 metres) and Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore (450metres), less than 15 minutes to Piazza Fiera (1.1 km), the Castello del Buonconsiglio (700metres) and the Auditorium Santa Chiara (1.2 km).
Plus, the city offers a good urban and extra-urban public transport system which is managed by Trentino Trasporti Esercizio.

Finally, it is possible to reach the charming mountain village of Sardagna with the cable car, that runs non-stop from 7.00am to 10.30pm on weekdays and holidays. Tickets for urban public transport can be purchased at stations, tobacco shops, on board buses (which cost a little more) and even with your smartphone using the OpenMove application.
