It is the largest theatre in the city and is part of a structure that used to house the "Santa Chiara" city hospital up until the 1960s. It was a building destined for demolition, which was overturned by the citizens of Trento who wanted to save it and allocate it to culture(Auditorium, Cuminetti Theatre and Cultural Services Centre), academics (from 1985 to 2012 it housed the Faculty of Humanities) and research (with the Bruno Kessler Foundation, the former Trentino Institute of Culture).
Renovated and modernized in 2006, the Auditorium now offers excellent acoustics and a perfect view of the stage from its over 800 seats. It’s just a short walk from the historical centre of Trento, making it is easily accessible from the hotels in the city and even from the train station.
