Piazza Cesare Battisti

This central square, dedicated to the Trentino rebel Cesare Battisti, looks completely different to any other city squares: the buildings that surround it, in fact, are the result of a demolition operation of the historical neighbourhood of the "Sas" and the subsequent reconstruction in rationalist style, in 1926.

Below the square, there’s an unexpected wonder: the archaeological remains of the ancient Roman town of Tridentum, which came to light during the restoration works carried out for adjacent Teatro Sociale; is now showcased and protected by the Sas Archaeological Underground Site and open to the general public for exhibitions and shows.

During Il Festival dello Sport this location will host: ROWING CAMP
