Andrea Dovizioso

Andrea Dovizioso, born in Forlimpopoli on 23 March 1986, has been a motorbike racer since 2001, when he debuted in the 125cc riding a Honda. He won the 125cc championship in 2004 and obtained two second places in 250cc in 2006 and 2007, before moving up to MotoGP with Honda in 2008. He was a member of Honda’s official team from 2009 to 2011 and won his first MotoGP race at Donington in 2009. After a season with Yamaha in 2012, in 2013 he joined Ducati, with whom he has won 13 Grands Prix. His best season came in 2016 when he won six races and battled with Marc Marquez for the title right down to the final day in Valencia. He was also runner-up in 2017. With 14 MotoGP victories, he is Italy’s third-most successful rider of all time after Valentino Rossi and Giacomo Agostini.
