Anna Danesi

Born in Brescia on 20 April 1996, the middle blocker made her debut with the national team in an Olympic qualifier in Ankara on 5 January 2016 which finished 3-1 to Russia. She was part of the Italy side that finished second at the 2017 Grand Prix in Nanjing and won a silver medal at the 2018 world championships in Japan. She took part in her first Olympics aged 20 at the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro. Danesi came through at Club Italia before moving to Conegliano where she won two league titles (in 2018 and 2019), the Coppa Italia (2017) and two Super Cups (2016 and 2018). At youth level she won bronze at the 2015 world under-20 championships (where she was also voted best middle blocker of the tournament). After ending her time with the Veneto-based club, Danesi will play for Saugella Monza next season.
