Alessandro Benetton

Alessandro Benetton is an entrepreneur, a sportsman and a fan of the digital world. His life philosophy is one of constant change – and he adopts the same approach in managing his businesses. After graduating from Boston University and obtaining an MBA from Harvard, he worked at Goldman Sachs International as an analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Equity Offering sectors in the Global Finance department. Upon returning to Italy, he decided to set up his own business and become an entrepreneur away from his family’s companies, so at the age of 28 he founded 21 Invest, now one of the most well-established private equity firms in Italy with offices in Treviso, Milan, Paris and Warsaw. 21 Invest’s mission is to invest in medium-size businesses bringing a solid business model and strategic, entrepreneurial and industrial vision to aid their growth. 21 Invest has completed over 100 investments and gathered resources worth over €2 billion from Italian and international institutional investors. Its current business portfolio generates total revenues of €1.7 billion with 10,000 employees. Alessandro is constantly innovating within his subsidiaries to create sustainable value, supporting companies that are capable of growing in harmony with the surrounding area and local community. 21 Invest is the only private equity firm part of the Shared Value Initiative set up by Harvard Business School professor Michael Porter. Since 2017, Benetton has been President of Fondazione Cortina 2021, which is organising the 2021 Alpine World Ski Championships.
