Carlo Silipo

"Carlo Silipo is the best player that I've coached." Those are the words of Sandro Campagna. Silipo was a player of immense quality who truly led by example. The Neapolitan defender was equipped with a fine throw and won the Italian league once at the Canottieri, while his honours with Posillipo included six league titles, three Champions Leagues, one Cup Winners' Cup and one Supercup. At international level, he won gold at the Olympics as well as one World Championship and two European Championships between 1992 and 1995. He is the all-time record appearance holder for the national team with 482 caps. Silipo is the current coach of the Italy youth teams.
