Federica Brignone was born in Milan on 14 July 1990. She made her debut in the 2007 Ski World Cup specialising in the giant slalom but soon thrived in the quicker events, securing good results in the Super-G and downhill too. She is now one of the leading skiers in the country. She has finished on the podium 28 times in the World Cup with 10 wins (two in the Super-G, five in the giant slalom and three in the combined). She won silver in the giant slalom at the 2011 world championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the same event where she claimed bronze at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
