Filippo Tortu

Born in Milan but of Sardinian descent, Filippo Tortu, 20, is currently the Italian 100 metre record holder with a time of 9.99, which he set in Madrid in 2018. Coached by his father Salvino, he finished fifth in the 100 metres in the 2018 European Championships in Berlin and was also part of the 4x100 metres relay team, which was disqualified. He won gold at the European U20 Championships in Grosseto in 2017 and silver at the World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz in 2016. His personal best in the 200 metres is 20.34.
