Giuseppe La Spada
Giuseppe La Spada is an interdisciplinary artist whose research explores man’s relationship with nature, looking to raise awareness about environmental issues. Water is a key element flowing through his work. La Spada was born in Palermo in 1974 and graduated in Digital Design from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, where he later taught until 2004. He is the only Italian artist to have won the prestigious Webby Awards – the ‘Web Oscars’ awarded by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences – in 2007, taking his place alongside the likes of David Bowie and the founders of YouTube. In 2017 he began working with Italian skier Federica Brignone on the Liquid Trajectories project.
