Laura Maddaloni was born in Naples on 11 April 1980. Daughter of Gianni and Caterina Maddaloni, she forms – along with her parents and brothers Pino and Marco – the most renowned family in Italian judo. Known to most as the wife of the boxer Clemente Russo, Laura was first and foremost a great athlete, winning a European team bronze medal and an individual bronze at junior level. Her achievements also include three Italian national titles and four at junior level, as well as several successes at international level. Sport has always been of central importance in her life and it led her to meet the love of her life, Clemente. She met the Italian boxer in 2005 at a competition in Spain. Three years later, they got married in Cervinara, in province of Avellino. The duo renewed their vows live on TV in 2017, during Barbara D’Urso’s Domenica Live show. They have three daughters: Rosy and twins Jane and Janet.
