Professor Linda Vignozzi was born in Empoli on 5 January 1976 and obtained a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Florence in 2001, with top marks and honours. In 2006, she received a PhD in endocrinology and metabolic diseases from the University of Florence and qualified as a specialist of the same topic at the University of Pisa in 2011. Since November 2018, she has been director of the andrology, endocrinology and gender incongruence departmental organisational unit at the Careggi University Hospital. Since July 2015, Vignozzi has been an associate professor in endocrinology at the medicine and surgery faculty of the University of Florence, in the Mario Serio department of biomedical, experimental and clinical sciences, where she holds the role of deputy director. She has served as a unit coordinator as part of research projects for national interest. She coordinates the research unit on gynaecological endocrinology in the sexuality and andrology medicine department at the University of Florence. She is also vice president of the medicine and surgery degree programme at the university. Furthermore, the professor is a member of the Academic Senate and secretary of the permanent conference of presidents of medicine and surgery degree programmes. Vignozzi is a member of the board of directors at the Italian society of endocrinology as well of the scientific committee at the Italian obesity society (SIO). She coordinates the subcommittee of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) dedicated to “Female Sexual (dys)function” and coordinates the scientific commission for “Female Sexual Health Dysfunction” at the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM). She serves as associate editor of Sexual Medicine and is a member of the editorial panel of international scientific journals in the field of endocrinology.
