Mauro Nespoli

Born in 1987, Voghera (PV) Nespoli has competed at the last three Olympic Games, winning gold at London 2012 and silver at Beijing 2008, both in the team events. At Rio 2016 he finished sixth in the individual event. In 2017 he became world champion together with Galiazzo and Pasqualucci, having previously won silver and bronze in 2015 and 2011 respectively. At the 2018 European Championships in Legnica, Nespoli claimed a team silver and mixed team gold, with Vanessa Landi. He has also won two Italian Targa titles (2013 and 2017). 2019 has been a superb year for him as he qualified for Tokyo 2020 with a fourth-placed finish at the World Championships, won two golds (individual and mixed team) and a bronze (team) at the European Games, and a silver at the World Cup in Moscow. Thanks to these results, he is now fourth in the world rankings.
