Paolo Cancelli

Born in 1968, Bergamo Cancelli made his Italy debut in 2012 at an Olympic qualifier in Stoke Mandeville before taking part in the London Paralympics, finishing ninth in his second appearance for the national team. He then won bronze in the individual event and silver in the team event with Simonelli and Bonacina at the 2013 World Para-archery Championships in Bangkok. At the 2015 World Championships in Germany he finished ninth in the individual event and took bronze with Simonelli and Bonacina in the team event to qualify for Rio 2016, where he finished ninth. He, Simonelli and Bonacina won both the 2017 World Championships in Beijing and the 2018 European Championships in Pilsen. At this summer's World Championships in 's-Hertogenbosch he qualified for Tokyo 2020.
