So many know him simply as the Coach. Since arriving in Italy in 1973, he has been a mainstay on basketball courts and on the small screen. On a pedestal with legends of the game such as Cesare Rubini and Sandro Gamba, Peterson was the coach of the all-conquering Tracer Milano side that won one European Champions Cup, four league titles, three Coppe Italia and one Korac Cup, as well as enjoying Coppa Italia success with Virtus Bologna in 1974 and 1976. His legendary quotes, from "spitting blood" during his time in the dugout to "Mamma, throw the pasta in" from all his commentary, are now part of the vocabulary of all basketball fans.
