Sabina Panzanini

Sabina Panzanini is one of the most successful Italian skiers of all time, which kicked off with winning medals at the Junior World Championships (gold in the giant slalom and bronze in slalom). Out of the skier from Alto Adige's 53 World Championship clashes, she went on to rack up three wins in the giant slalom, the first in Park City, the second on the prestigious and very technical Gran Risa, which is usually reserved for male competitions, and the third in Maribor ahead of Deborah Compagnoni. Panzanini, who now lives in Livigno with her family, has taken part in the Olympics twice, in Lillehammer and Nagano, coming fifth in the champions' giant slalom in Morioka before retiring in 2000.
