Stefano Ghisolfi was born on 18 February 1993 in Turin. He is one of four climbers in the world to have climbed a 9b+ grade wall, alongside Chris Sharma, Adam Ondra and Alex Megos. He made his IFSC World Cup bow in 2009, taking part in bouldering, lead and speed competitions. Ghisolfi has been part of the Fiamme Oro since 2012, the same year in which he achieved his first podium finish when he came third in lead in China. He clinched the first of his five wins on the circuit in 2014 in Wujiang in the same speciality. He has climbed five 9b grades: Lapsus in Andonno on 2 November 2015; First Round, First Minute in Margalef, Spain on 30 January 2017; One Slap in Arco on 22 November 2017; La Capella in Siurana on 12 January 2018; Queen Line in Arco on 26 February 2019. On 7 December 2018, a year on from the first reconnaissance, he managed the first repetition of Perfecto Mundo in Margalef, which is a 9b+ grade climb created by Chris Sharma and freed by Alex Megos.
