Vincenzo Nibali was born in Messina on 14 November 1984 and now lives in Lugano (Switzerland). He is married to Rachele and has one daughter, Emma Vittoria, who was born in 2014. Nibali began cycling professionally in 2005 and has ridden for Fassa Bortolo, Liquigas (2006-2012), Astana (2013-2016) and Bahrain-Merida (2017-2019). He will compete for Trek-Segafredo in the 2020/21 season. Nibali is one of just seven riders to have won the three big tours, with two Giro d’Italia wins (2013 and 2016) and one win at both the Tour de France (2014) and the Vuelta de España (2010). He also has a further seven podium finishes to his name: third in the Giro in 2010 and 2017 and second in 2011 and 2019, third in the Tour in 2012 and second in the Vuelta in 2013 and 2017. Nibali has won two Giro di Lombardi titles (2015 and 2017) and clinched Milano-Sanremo glory in 2018. He has been Italian champion twice (2014 and 2015) and came fourth in the UCI Road World Championships in 2013.
